Fall Sports Tryouts:
Students at both the ELC and Main Campus are encouraged to participate
August 29, 30 and Sept 3 – 5:30 – 7:30 pm:
Volleyball Drop In *All student athletes in Grade 10-12 are welcome to come
in and get some touches to get ready for tryouts. Coaches will be on hand.
Junior Girls – Gr. 10 – Volleyball Tryouts:
Wednesday Sept 4th & Thursday Sept 5th 3:30 – 5:30

SD60 Parents as Career Coaches Poster

An informative and empowering learning opportunity for parents of students in grades 9 – 11 is ready for the taking at North Peace Secondary School. “Parents as Career Coaches” is a two-evening learning workshop series where parents learn valuable insights, strategies, and tools to help their youngsters journey down their career choice paths. This event is free of charge, happening Thursday, Feb. 23 and Thursday, March 9 from 6:30 to 9pm.

Parent Portal

The ELC is excited about the new Parent Portal which will allow you to access your students current marks, assignments, attendance, future report cards plus much more! Parents should have received an email before the Christmas break with their password and login information. The Parent Portal will follow your student to graduation and is an excellent way to stay connected and up to date on your students progress.

Successful Christmas Hampers

Welcome back and welcome 2017! Our school year is well underway and the days are getting longer! The ELC students and staff really pulled together for our Christmas hampers with $4,400.00 being raised in gift cards and cash for our 3 families PLUS tables full of food and individual gifts for the families.

We also had a challenge – that Mr Steele graciously accepted – wherein if we raised enough money he would wear Elmo pajamas for a day. Quite coincidentally (wink wink) this day was also the day we went up to NPSS for the student talent show. Thank goodness for a good natured Elmo!

December Activities

This week is a busy week at the ELC! Today we are having soup and sandwiches for sale to raise money for our Christmas Hamper Families. Tuesday is smoothie day. Wednesday is Christmas sweater day. Thursday is the talent show up at NPSS which some of our students are showcasing their talents at. And Friday is organize and wrap our Christmas hampers, followed by the Trackers hockey game in the afternoon.

Trip to China

Thirteen Grade 10 student ambassadors representing North Peace Secondary School, the Energetic Learning Campus, Hudson Hope Secondary, and Prespatou Secondary School returned from a 10 day, International Youth Exchange in Jiangsu Province, China. During the trip students had an opportunity to visit the cities of Shanghai, Nanjing, and Suzhou

November Interims

Interims will be going home Friday, October 28th. These will show the student’s current mark in all courses and the breakdown of assignment marks and any missed assignments. As well there will be a student information verification form that will need to be reviewed for the correct information and returned. We are in the process of creating a family portal information system so that parents and/or guardians can easily access marks and completed or missed assignments at any time. We are hoping this will be in place by mid-November.
